American Wizard Project

I work in a planetarium as a producer. That means I make planetarium shows, write astronomy scripts, help create content for different educational grade levels, etc. One of the shows I came up with was based on the astronomical themes of Harry Potter. Well, one day I was presented with a very special gift. My very own custom made wand. So, I decided to do a whole photo series based on this wand and its origins.

American Wizard
Every year for Halloween we do a “Halloween Day at the Museum” at LASM. And every year so far I’ve always done my original “Astronomical World of Harry Potter” planetarium show. Well, this year’s event we had a couple of volunteers from Bayous And Beyond, LLC and they brought me one of the coolest gifts ever, a personalized wand from Ishmael’s Fine Wands.
I promised I would take a proper photo of the wand and with me and the wand. Apologies it took so long to get around to it, but here it is.
It even came with a personalized description: “Mahogany/White Palm, 15 inches: Basilisk’s claws with a muggle laser for long-distance spell augmentations. The core is Louisiana Swamp Dragon heartstring. This is the personal wand of famous Astrocartographer, Jay Lamm.” Thanks so much to E Morgan Vignes and James Broussard of Ishmael’s Fine Wands. …
